ABOUT DEEP ROOTS

Deep Roots Home and Garden Center is a family owned and operated business located in Rhoadesville VA. Deep Roots opened its doors on April 4th, 2014 as a full line garden center and Purina feed dealer. We offer a great selection of Annuals, Perennials, Trees, and Shrubs, as well as gardening supplies, pottery, and a unique selection of primitive home décor that is continually changing.

We stock a full line of animal feeds from as small as a rodent to as large as Horses and Cattle. Through our Mazuri line of feed from Purina Mills, we are also able to get specialty feeds for any type of exotic pet or animal that you may have.

WHO WE ARE

Deep Roots Home and Garden Center was founded in 2014 by Matthew and Jennifer Boyer. In March of 2019, Ryan Van Hoven (Jennifer’s brother) and his wife Autumn purchased Deep Roots.

Autumn is brand new to the plant industry, but brings with her a wealth of knowledge from serving in the retail industry since working through college, where she graduated with her Bachelors degree from Liberty University. She has a natural talent for store design and products that customers love, and brings that ability to the store to create new and interesting ideas and displays.

Ryan is far from new to the plant industry, as he basically grew up in a greenhouse. His father started Battlefield Farms, a local wholesale greenhouse operation, and Ryan benefitted greatly from learning all about plants from a young age.  While the retail world is new, it presents some exciting challenges that Ryan is happy to tackle.

DEEP ROOTS NAME

Deep Roots Home and Garden Center has a three part meaning to its name.

  1. All healthy trees and plants have “Deep Roots” that keep them nourished and well supported.
  2. Ryan is now the 3rd generation in the horticulture industry, thus giving us “Deep Roots” in this business.
  3. One of the most inspirational parts of our name comes from Colossians 2:7, which says “Let your Roots grow down into Him and let your lives be built on Him, then your Faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
